Why Design?

Pelz Player Greens is the only artificial turf golf design and build company that employs professional golf course architects to design and build all of our projects. But why is this important you ask…?

Because in addition to having the most realistic playing turf (Pelz Precision Putt), the most realistic reacting base material (ShotStopper), the biggest factor in ensuring that an artificial golf installation looks like a real grass one is having it designed by a real golf architect.

You wouldn’t hire a plumber to put a roof on your house, you’d higher a roofer, and you wouldn’t hire a non golfer to design a golf green, you’d hire a golf architect. So why settle for less?

Starting with the design process is key in ensuring that every Pelz Player Greens project gets built to not only look real and play like real, but function properly and satisfy the customer completely. Our mission is not just to create fun, environmentally friendly and sustainable installations, but to leave our customers with a “wow.”

When we design, we always coordinate with the client to ensure that their vision is met 100%, and the transparency behind seeing the design come together is one of our client’s favorite processes. They get to see the shapes of the green come alive in our drawings, sketches, and plans, and can provide input on what they like and what they want to see changed. It’s your project, wouldn’t you want to be in total control of it?

The design process answers all the important questions that you have to ask when starting out a new project:

  1. Where is the water going to drain?

  2. How can we maximize efficiency on turf wastage and save costs?

  3. How can we get the maximum playability out of this space?

  4. How can we make sure that the client is happy with the end result?

  5. How do we guarantee that the construction process will stay on time and within budget?

When we deliver the final plan set to the client, we answer all these questions.

Our plan sets for every Pelz Player Green project include:

  1. Masterplan

  2. Earthworks Plan

  3. Cut/Fill Plan

  4. Drainage Plan

  5. Grading Plan

  6. Turf Plan

  7. Bill of Quantities

  8. Quality Control and Construction Specifications Outline

  9. Post-Installation Maintenance Manual

And the optional additional plans (depending on the project) detailing: Accessories, Landscaping, Lighting, Infrastructure, etc.

It’s only through this process that both we as builders and you as the client get to see the entire picture of the project and how each component comes together to create a perfect end result. Perfect end results are what we’re all about.

We are unique in that we are a golf design and construction company (made up of course designers, golf course builders, and golf coaches) that work with the best artificial turf, not an artificial turf supplier with little to no experience in golf. That distinction is everything and ensures that your project turns out exactly how you want it and the end product looks and plays like real.
